Gardens centres at Christmas are just the absolute best aren’t they? I just love walking round all the displays, it really gets me in the festive mood. I was so excited when Wyvale Garden Centre got in touch offering us tickets to go and visit Santa. We love our local Wyvale centre, we held Ava’s birthday party there earlier in the year. One thing we hadn’t done though was visit Santa, so this was a totally new experience for us. We had such a lovely day and were really impressed with our Santa visit. Here is a bit about our day and our thoughts on visiting Santa at Wyevale garden centre. I also made this short video of our lovely festive day, I’d love you to take a look.
Visiting Santa At Wyevale Garden Centre – Shenstone
We arrived at the garden centre slightly earlier than our allocated Santa time slot as I wanted to have a look around the displays, which I have to say did not disappoint. Right from the entrance we were greeted with festive scenes and the most beautiful Christmas decorations. Unicorns seem to be pretty big this Christmas so Ava was in her element looking at everything. On the day we visited (Sunday) Wyevale had organised a free face painter who was amazing! It was Ava’s first time having her face painted, it was such a big hit with her, she loved it.
Santa’s hut was nestled in amongst the Christmas tree displays, we had a small wait to see Santa, which was fine as there were lots to look at whilst we waited for our turn. Before we went in to see the big man, one of his elves called us up and got Ava to pick a ‘magic’ bean, which she then planted in a little pot with some tissue paper, she also did Poppy’s for her. We were then called in by another elf, who asked Ava to put the plant pot in the special cupboard, very mysterious!
Ava, Poppy (and Andy) sat next to Santa, Ava was pretty shy but Santa was really good with her, taking time to talk to her even though she wouldn’t talk to begin with, Poppy on the other hand was not shy and was so excited by the experience. We were allowed to take our own photos plus one of the elves took some professional ones with us all in. Then Ava was asked to go and check on her magic bean in the cupboard, when she opened it the beans had turned into 2 mini real Christmas trees! Such a magical moment for little ones. This marked the end of our Santa visit, we were then directed outside to look at the photo’s.
Whilst I decided what photo’s to buy, Ava went off to decorate hers and Poppy’s tree. There were 3 tables set up with tinsel, baubles an sparkly pipe cleaners. I thought this was such a lovely touch and a great way to keep the little ones occupied. I went for a package deal on the photo’s, you are not obliged to purchase photo’s but it is very rare that all 5 of us are in a photo, plus with Christmas in mind, I knew I could give some as gifts to family. In the package we got 2 prints, a glitter frame, a keyring and a bauble, one to be treasured forever.
We really enjoyed visiting Santa at Wyevale Garden Centre Shenstone and would definitely go again next year. There were so many lovely touches, I especially loved the magic trees. I am also so impressed with the gifts of Santa, Poppy received a lovely googly eye board book, we are big book lovers and both girls have loved reading it. Ava’s present really impressed me though, she got a crayola bath crayon and canvas set, I have never even seen these before. Ava loves baths and I was actually looking at getting her some bath crayons so this present couldn’t of been more perfect. Overall we had a very lovely festive day!
