I normally share family days out ideas on my blog but today I wanted to do a post just for us parents. I think it’s really important to spend time together as a couple away from the kids. It gives you a much needed break from parenting and a chance to be something other than mum and dad. We are long overdue a night away and London is one of my favourite places to visit. There is so much to explore in London, I just love it! Read on for my top 5 things to do in London when you are child free.
5 Things To Do In London When You Are Child Free
Go to the theatre
We have never been to the theatre in London but it is top of my bucket list. I would love to see The Lion King or We will rock you. Going to the theatre is proper adulting and after years of watching CBeebies (my saviour) I’d quite like some adult culture.
Enjoy a child free meal
London has thousands of restaurants catering for every different cuisine you can possibly think of. If you are a parent of a toddler you will understand just how a precious a meal out alone is! Sit back and enjoy the fact that no one is going to be throwing food off the tables…well, not unless one of you gets really drunk.
Be a tourist
Grab a tube ticket and get sightseeing. Take a ride on The London Eye, go say hi to Queenie, jump on board a Thames tour boat, stroll through Hyde Park. If you are an instagram addict like me, get your photo taken infront of as many floral walls as possible, Peggy Porchen’s anyone?
Shop, shop, shop
London has THE BEST shops, from designer and high street giants to quirky little independent shops. My absolute favourite place is Camden,I could spend hours there. I just love the atmosphere, the shops and market stalls, the pubs and most importantly Camden market Chinese is the best, it brings back so many happy memories for me.
Go to a festival
Now you may be wondering why I’m saying go to a festival, I’m not talking about the skanky portaloo shower dodging kind (been there, actually have the tshirt) London has plenty of more cultured festivals to offer such as the Taste Of London festival for the foodies, Country living fair for the interior obsessed and for the music lovers like me Camden Rocks. You can find lots of discounted tickets and other great deals on things to do in London over on Groupon.
