In honour of world book day I thought I would share some of Ava’s favourite books. We read books every day without fail and often go to the story time session at our local library. Ava has always loved books and would happily spend the entire day reading if she could. I love reading so I’m really happy that Ava does too.
World Book Day 2018
Ava’s favourite books
The Gruffalo is one of my favourite children’s books, I’m not ashamed to say I know it off by heart. Me and Ava even quote it to eachother, so cute! This book was my sons favourite, I’m so glad I kept hold of it and that its now one of Ava’s favourite books. Top tip, occasionally we can convince Ava to eat her dinner if we tell her its Gruffalo crumble.
The Gruffalo’s child
The sequel to The Gruffalo and it’s just as good, in fact I think Ava may just prefer this one. She is loving the recent snow we have had as she has been spotting prints in the snow just like in the book. Heart warming moment or what?!
Stick man was the first book toddler Ava became obsessed with. She especially loves the part with Santa. Whenever we go for walks we always try and spot Stick Man. This does mean we usually end up coming home with a million sticks though.
Room on a broom
If you haven’t noticed already, we are big Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler fans. I am pretty sure we own all their books, they are fantastic. I love Room on the broom and It’s such a good book, Ava’s favourite part is definitely the dragon.
Guess how much I love you
I have been reading this book to Ava since she was a baby. I don’t think I will ever tire of reading it, it’s such a beautiful book. And yes if you are wondering, I do still get a lump in my throat reading the ending.
Marshall saves the day
Is there a toddler around that doesn’t love Paw Patrol? I picked this book up from B&M bargains for about 99p. Ava insists on reading it multiple times a day. I bought her a Zuma one too which she likes but Marshall is the one.
