Looking for fun Halloween family days out this October? I have put together a list of some fab places all taking part in Halloween festivities in and around Staffordshire this year. I love visiting places this time of year as there is usually so much going on. I’ve tried to include a good mix of places that will cater for all ages especially those with younger children. I have a 20 month old and I can’t wait to take her to some of these places this year now she’s able to join in the spooky fun!
Halloween Family Days Out In Staffordshire
Alton Towers Scarefest 7th – 8th, 14th – 15th, 20th – 31st October 2017
This is probably one of the most well known Halloween events there is. Scarefest has a good mix of attractions for all ages. For the price however I think Ava might be a little too young to fully appreciate everything going on.
Drayton Manor – More Trick Than Treat 14th – 29th October
If you were looking for a theme park Halloween day out for younger ones, Drayton Manor looks fab!
Wonderland Telford Halloween Extravaganza 21st – 29th October
If I wasn’t 8 months pregnant we would definitely be going to the event aimed at younger children. It’s a fair bit of walking and quite a few hills though so I don’t think I’d make it around! Booking is required for this one.
National Forest Adventure Farm Halloween Spook-tacular 20 – 29th October
We took Ava here last year as its great for little ones plus you get to pick a pumpkin which is included in the price. We are looking forward to visiting again this year.
Twycross Zoo 26th – 31st October
Twycross Zoo have lots of fun things happening over half term and Halloween, all events are included in your zoo admission too.
West Midlands Safari Park 30th September – 29th October
There are so many fun activities happening at West Midlands Safari Park, it looks like a great day out for the whole family.
Trentham Gardens October Half Term
Trentham Gardens has a variety of family activities happening throughout half term.
Amerton Farm Halloween Spooktacular 23rd – 29th October
Amerton Farm is one of my favourite places to take Ava and since it’s had a big makeover it’s better than ever. We will definitely be visiting this Halloween.
Low Cost Halloween Family Days Out
Days out over half term can end up being expensive but they don’t have to be. Taking packed lunches and booking online will help save money at the more pricier places. There are lots of low-cost Halloween family days out too, here’s some of my favourites that don’t cost the earth.
Picking your own pumpkins is a great low-cost fun day out, have a search on google for your local ones. We recently visited Essington farm (Nr Wolverhampton) which you can read all about by clicking the above link.
Most National trust places will have Halloween activities happening over half term. We became national trust members at the start of the year.
Make sure you check out your local wildlife trust places as most of them will have lots going on over the half term.
If there’s anywhere I’ve missed out, feel free to pop it in the comments.
