Last week we were invited to take part in the Britmums #PrezzoLaFamiglia Challenge at our local Prezzo. Eating out and trying new restaurants is something we love to do as a family so we were all really excited about this opportunity.
Prezzo has more than 280 restaurants across the UK, yet this was our first time eating here, I can happily say it wont be the last. The Prezzo we visited was well layed out and very stylish inside although it was the outside that really caught my eye, I thought the industrial feel was very fitting for Derby.
The staff were very friendly and both children got some pencils and an activity sheet to keep them occupied until the food was ready, which didn’t take long at all.
When I read about the new La Famiglia dishes I just loved the idea, whats more heart warming than a big bowl of yummy pasta served in the middle of the table for everyone to tuck into, something I definitely want to recreate at home. Jack in particular was amazed at the massive bowl of pasta that had arrived at our table, and he loved being able to serve himself. We always try to eat together at home but with a busy almost teenager and an on the go toddler, meal times tend to be a quick affair, so it was lovely for us all to relax together and chat as we shared the food, no washing up is always a bonus too!
We had a choice of four family favourite pasta dishes to choose from – Spaghetti Bolognese, Penne Arrabiata, Spaghetti Carbonara and Penne Alla Rusticana, plus garlic bread and drinks. We chose Coca Cola as our drink, cheesy garlic bread and Penne Alla Rusticana, which was a lovely creamy tomato dish with chicken, rosemary, bacon and peppers, everyone loved it especially Ava. We can be very indecisive when it comes to picking from a huge menu so only having the four dishes to choose from certainly made ordering food a lot easier and quicker for us all.
At home I normally do the serving up and generally give myself a smaller portion over everyone else so it was nice to help myself to as much as I wanted, unfortunately because it was so yummy we all had a little too much and couldn’t fit any pudding in, that’s a challenge for next time!
All the amazing food and excitement wore Ava out, she fell asleep pretty much as soon as we left. We are really looking forward to visting again and trying one of the other dishes off the menu.
Thanks for reading and I really hope you try out the Prezzo la famiglia dishes for your family.
