I didn’t intend to make my own blackboard, I’m not the most artistic person in the world, however I left it too late to order one, doh! Just as I was about to go on the hunt for chalk pens to make my own, I was contacted by Chalkola Chalk Markers to see if I wanted to review their chalkboard markers, perfect timing or what?!
Chalkola make a range of chalk markers in a variety of vibrant colours and they come in different sizes. They work on any NON POROUS surfaces such as chalkboards (store bought chalkboard paint is a bit different so it may be harder to remove, if this is the case it can always be repainted) windows, labels, jars etc. They are non toxic which is great as it means Ava will be able to use them after I have finished with them. They are water based and can easily be erased with a wet cloth. They are odour and xylene free and environmentally friendly. These are great for creative play with children and are widely used by teachers.
To create the chalkboard I ordered this A3 chalkboard from eBay and used 6mm chalkola pens to create the text on the board, they are so easy to use and they are very easy to erase should you make a mistake (I made a lot!) I browsed Pinterest for inspiration on how to design the board.
Chalkola have very kindly offered my readers 15% off all chalkola products direct from their website or from Amazon, just enter 15OFFSTR at checkout. You can buy the pack I used Here.
